Amendment 4: Impact of SB 7066 & lawsuit filed against it

In November 2018, 65% of Floridians said yes to second chances by voting for Amendment 4. During the 2019 legislative session Florida passed SB 7066, which limits the number of returning citizens eligible to vote under Amendment 4 by tying financial obligations to the right to vote.

As a result, the LWV of Florida filed a federal lawsuit with the ACLU, NAACP, and Brennan Center for Justice to block the law. Interview of League President Patricia Brigham by Bay News 9 anchor Holly Gregory.
