Are You Up to “Havana” Good Time?
Take advantage of the ability to visit Cuba with the League’s
Sisters Across the Straits Delegations
Seize this opportunity to visit Cuba and learn more about the island nation just 90 miles from our shores. This is your chance to experience Cuba firsthand, and learn about the history, culture and changing the political landscape of a country once forbidden to Americans!
Travel through Old Havana and learn about colonial architecture and historic preservation at Plaza de San Francisco, Plaza Nueva, and Plaza de la Catedral.
Havana is a historic city which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982. Founded by Spanish conquistadors in 1515, it was the most fortified city in the Caribbean during the XVI and XVII centuries to protect the Havana harbor from pirate attacks. Now you can enjoy Havana, the city known as the cradle of colonial architecture filled with exuberant art and friendly people!
Engage in honest, meaningful interactions with the people of Cuba!
The topics of discussion at meetings are based upon the interests and composition of the delegation. LWVF provides unique coverage of our trips by covering topics such as education, government, arts, healthcare, women’s rights, and many more!
Read some recent testimonials from happy travelers:
“We had such a good time on the trip. What a different and diverse culture! We truly appreciate all you do to make these trips and ours in particular possible. I know it has to be so difficult, but you make it look easy. From the lovely dinner at your house to the supervision of our luggage pick up in Miami, you certainly took care of all of us! Both my husband and I are sure we would never have learned so much history, culture, and politics without you! Thanks for all you do, hope our paths cross again!”
“Keep doing this. It’s very important to educate the American public, especially in Florida. Excellent value for the money.”
“The camaraderie with the other women and the opportunities to interact in a structured way with the locals – the professors, FMC women, etc. We would not have had these opportunities without Annie arranging them in advance, and this made the trip much more productive.”
Registration fees will include airfare to and from Cuba; lodging in Cuba; transportation in Cuba via air-conditioned motor-coach; some meals; and admission to all museums and events on the itinerary.
