Aimee Stafford recently relocated to Florida from Kentucky, where she spent the last 16 years serving as the director of public relations and then the senior vice president of administration for the state’s largest, broad-based, business advocacy association, the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. In her role, Stafford was responsible for communications and public relations, operations, human resources, IT and financial oversight. She also administered the organization’s 501(c)(3) foundation, the Center for Workforce Development and provided regular training and consultation on nonprofit best practices to local chamber executives throughout the state.
Prior to joining the chamber, Stafford worked as an account executive at Meridian Communications, Lexington, Ky., providing media and marketing strategy for nonprofit clients. She began her career in public relations at the University of Kentucky, followed by an association management career with Host Communication’s clients, the International Tour Association and International Spa and Fitness Association.
Stafford graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism-integrated communications. In 2009, she was named to the American Chamber of Commerce Executives’ “Top 40 Under 40” list and is a 2010 graduate of Leadership Kentucky. She is a former member of the Public Relations Society of America, the American Society of Association Executives, the Association of State Chamber Professionals, and sat on committees for the Kentucky Arts Council, Kentucky Alzheimer’s Association and Leadership Kentucky.
