As a native of Orlando, Florida, Eunice Garbutt was introduced to the world of civil rights at a young age by her mother, who was an active member of the NAACP. For more than three decades, Eunice has tirelessly worked and volunteered in underserved communities in Central Florida. She works closely with local and state organizations on issues pertaining to civil rights, education, equal rights for women, health care reform, anti-violence and voter registration.
As an active member of organizations that foster principles and values important to Eunice, she is affiliated with the Central Florida Urban League, NAACP, and the National Organization of Women (NOW). She currently services on the BOD for Community Legal Services of Mid-Florida and the Central Florida Urban League. In addition, she is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
She has a diverse educational background which includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a MPA in Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University. When she’s not volunteering, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling. She is married to Duncan Garbutt and they reside in the Central Florida area with their fur-babies, Sophie and Sammy.
