Mark was ready for a change in 2004 when he and his wife Lois moved to Key West. After a successful career with several large corporations in Toledo, Ohio, he wanted to give back to the community through service to nonprofit organizations. He joined the board of Last Stand and has been a leader in this grassroots civic organization dedicated to protecting the environment and quality of life in the Florida Keys. For seven years he was Finance Director for an AIDS service organization providing case managed health care, housing and prevention education in Monroe County.
He is a graduate of Leadership Monroe County and served for two years as board Treasurer. Currently Mark is the Accountant for the Community Foundation of the Florida Keys, a nonprofit that encourages philanthropy and matches these acts of caring to the community needs. After graduating with a B.S. in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University, Mark successfully completed the Uniform CPA Examination on his first attempt. He is currently licensed as a CPA in Florida and has recently specialized in nonprofit accounting and tax matters.
Mark is a member of the Lower Keys League of Women Voters. After attending Lobbying Days in 2018, he has participated in the Land Water and Wildlife Team calls. Mark looks forward to supporting the LWVFL process to create Natural Resources positions and serving as board Treasurer.
